California Court Reschedules Hearing on IEEPA Tariff Case for May 27
The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California pushed forward, in a text-ony order, its hearing on whether to transfer the state of California's case against all tariff action imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act to the Court of International Trade. The hearing will now take place on May 27 at 1:30 p.m. EST (State of California v. Donald J. Trump, N.D. Cal. # 3:25-03372).

The hearing was moved since the government's attorney, Eric Hamilton, was already scheduled to attend a hearing before the same court on the original date of the hearing, May 22. Hamilton has already defended President Donald Trump's IEEPA tariff action in federal court, defending the duties before the Court of International Trade earlier this week (see 2505130052).
The U.S. had asked for the court to reschedule the hearing for May 29.
