Starting in November 2019, Goudreau and Alvarez bought the equipment from Goudreau's Melbourne-based company, Silvercorp, and shipped them to Colombia to ultimately "carry out activities in Venezuela," DOJ said. Goudreau also was charged with violating the National Firearms Act and unlawful possession of machine guns.
Each faces five years in prison for the conspiracy charge, 10 years for the smuggling count, 20 years for violating export control laws and 10 years each for violating the National Firearms Act and unlawful possession of a machine gun, DOJ said.
