EU Adds to Sudan, Syria Sanctions Lists
The European Council on Jan. 22 added six entities to its Sudan sanctions list and six people and five entities to its Syria sanctions list.

Under the Sudan restrictions regime, the council listed two weapons manufacturers, Defense Industries System and SMT Engineering; the Sudanese Armed Forces-controlled Zadna International Company for Investment Limited; and three companies involved in procuring military equipment for the Rapid Support Forces.
Under the Syria sanctions regime, the council listed an economic adviser to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, three businesspersons and two individuals linked to the Assad family. The newly listed companies are Al-Dj Group, Cham Wings, Freebird Travel Agency, Iloma Investment Private JSC and Al-Aqila.
