Avant’s Principal and founder, John Anderson, joins our team as a new Managing Director. John will be based out of the Denver office as a critical leader focused on Export Controls & Sanctions and the impact of U.S. reexport controls on U.S. and foreign companies in particular. John comes to us with the Avant team, Rachel Zaragoza (Booth) and Clarence Smith, who provided export compliance guidance to clients all over the world and in support of some of the highest-profile export control matters. Collectively, they bring over 40 years of export compliance experience, a passion for export controls, and a strong commitment to delivering value to our clients. Rachel will be based out of the KPMG Avocats practice in France, and Clarence will be based out of our Detroit office!
