Cruz to Renew Bill to Protect LNG Export Projects From Lawsuits
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, plans to reintroduce a bill aimed at ensuring that courts cannot vacate previously authorized permits for liquefied natural gas export projects, a Senate aide said March 24.

The reintroduction of the Project LNG Act is expected in the coming weeks, the aide told Export Compliance Daily. Cruz previously introduced the bill in September in the last Congress (see 2409300030).
Cruz, meanwhile, welcomed a decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit to reinstate approvals for two LNG export projects in Texas. Cruz and other lawmakers had urged the court to reverse an August 2024 decision to vacate reauthorizations for the Rio Grande LNG and Texas LNG Brownsville projects (see 2411010059).
