The Consumer Product Safety Commission is issuing a direct final rule amending its safety standard for infant bath seats to incorporate the latest revisions to the ASTM voluntary industry standard, it said. The changes are effective Dec. 22, 2019, unless comments opposing the change are received by Oct. 21.

Commissioner Robert Adler will take over as acting chairman of the Consumer Product Safety Commission on Oct. 1, a CPSC spokesman confirmed. Adler, who was elected vice chairman by commission vote on Sept. 13 but will head CPSC until a new chairman is confirmed in the Senate, will replace current Acting Chairman Ann Marie Buerkle, whose term on the commission ends Oct. 27.
