The procedures and treatment schedules in this manual are administratively authorized for use by APHIS to prevent the movement of agricultural pests into or within the United States. Listed treatments include chemical treatments such as fumigation with methyl bromide, and nonchemical treatments with heat, cold, or irradiation.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement reports that more than $3 million in counterfeit goods have been seized by ICE and U.S. Customs and Border Protection since the beginning of Fiscal Year 2010 in the Port of Savannah. Besides seizure, CBP's strategic approach to IPR enforcement includes audits of infringing importers, and cooperation with international trading partners, industry and other government agencies. 14,841 seizures of counterfeit and pirated goods with a total domestic value of $260.7 million occurred in FY 2009.
The Environmental Protection Agency reports that Gordon Corporation, a Kansas City, Mo., pesticide manufacturer, has agreed to pay a $6,000 civil penalty to the U.S. to settle allegations that it violated the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) by importing a 294,880-pound shipment of the misbranded pesticide 2,4-D Acid.
