The designations target Royal Shune Lei Co. Ltd., which OFAC said is a Myanmar arms procurement company that has brokered deals with North Korea. OFAC also sanctioned the company's CEO, Tin Myo Aung, and an employee, Kyaw Thu Myo Myint, who traveled to China for business meetings with representatives of the Korea Mining Development Trading Corp. (KOMID), a North Korean government agency. In addition, OFAC designated Kim Yong Ju, the deputy KOMID representative in Beijing, and Aung Ko Ko Oo, a director of Royal Shune Lei.
Also sanctioned was Nam Chol Ung, an intelligence officer and representative of the U.S.-designated North Korea Reconnaissance General Bureau, who OFAC said has "engaged in multiple overseas revenue generation schemes on behalf of the [North Korean] government since at least 2013."
