China Adds US Companies to Unreliable Entity List, Export Control List
China on Sept. 25 added three U.S. companies to its Unreliable Entity List for arms sales to Taiwan and three others to its Export Control List because they “endanger” Chinese national security, the Ministry of Commerce said.

Beijing put Saronic Technologies, Aerkomm and Oceaneering International on its Unreliable Entity List for “military and technological cooperation with Taiwan” and “seriously undermining China's sovereignty, security, and development interests,” a ministry spokesperson said. The move prohibits those companies from participating in “import and export activities related to China” and subjects them to other restrictions, according to an unofficial translation.
The country also added Huntington Ingalls Industries, Planate Management Group and Global Dimensions to its Export Control List to “safeguard national security and interests and fulfill international obligations such as non-proliferation,” the spokesperson said. The list blocks them from receiving certain Chinese exports of dual-use technology without a special license.
China’s announcements came about two weeks after the Bureau of Industry and Security added 23 Chinese entities to its Entity List for illegally acquiring U.S.-origin semiconductor manufacturing equipment for other parties on the Entity List, supporting China’s military modernization, directly supplying the Chinese military and other similar activities (see 2509120077).
