E-rate Advocates Say Some Rules Should Be Deleted

Among the red tape that the FCC should consider cutting are its Form 486, the “extraordinary circumstance” invoice deadline waiver standard, and program procedures that hinder transitioning between service providers, the groups said. They also raised concerns about Chairman Brendan Carr's proposal to zero out funding for Wi-Fi hot spots and Wi-Fi on school buses. “We invited the Commissioners and their staff to visit libraries, schools, and health clinics and meet with staff, students, and library patrons,” the filing said.
