Export Compliance Daily combines U.S. export control news, foreign border import regulation and policy developments into a single daily information service that reliably informs its trade professional readers about important current issues affecting their operations.

One information collection deals with the agency's outreach programs, including the training seminars it holds on export controls. BIS asks participants to complete surveys about those programs so it can "adjust its course offerings to meet the needs of the exporting community," it said. "The renewal of this generic information collection allows BIS to conduct the data collection and final assessments in a shorter timeframe, thus providing policy and program offices with needed results possibly before the next seminar."

The other collection is related to BIS surveys of critical U.S. industrial sectors and technologies. The data from the surveys allows the government to "benchmark industry performance and raise awareness of diminishing manufacturing capabilities" while obtaining information about export controls, the U.S. "competitive outlook" and more.

BIS previously requested feedback on both information collections in June, and it's now continuing to accept comments for 30 days after the notices are published on regulations.gov.
