Senator Renews Call for European Allies to Restore Nuclear Sanctions on Iran
Sen. Pete Ricketts, R-Neb., a senior member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, took to the Senate floor July 23 to reiterate his call for the U.K., France and Germany to reimpose UN sanctions on Iran for violating its nuclear weapons-related obligations.

Ricketts praised the European countries for saying they are prepared to implement the "snapback" sanctions by the end of August if a deal isn’t reached to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon. He urged them to stick to their pledge and resist stalling tactics by Iran.
Ricketts introduced a resolution in February calling for the restoration of the sanctions before the ability to do so expires Oct. 18 (see 2502130062).
