Trump Blasts '60 Minutes,' Threatens 'New York Times'
President Donald Trump said in a Truth Social post Wednesday that his lawsuit against CBS, 60 Minutes and Paramount over the editing of an interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris is a “true WINNER” and threatened the New York Times for reporting that the case is baseless. “They just have a non curable case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, possibly to the point where the Times’ interjection makes them liable for tortious interference, including in Elections, which we are intently studying,” Trump wrote. “60 Minutes perpetrated a Giant FRAUD against the American People, the Federal Elections Commission, and the Federal Communications System.”

In the post, Trump falsely said Paramount and CBS admitted to the “crime.” He also said 60 Minutes deleted an answer from Harris and replaced it with a response to a different question, while the transcript shows that the two versions of the aired interview used different portions of the same long answer to a single question (see 2502050063).
“The bottom line is that what 60 Minutes and its corporate owners have committed is one of the most egregious illegalities in Broadcast History,” Trump posted. “Nothing like this, the illegal creation of an answer for a Presidential Candidate, has ever been done before, they have to pay a price for it, and the Times should also be on the hook for their likely unlawful behavior.”
Attorneys, journalism organizations and free speech experts have said that the Harris interview was edited in the same way most others are handled, and it doesn’t constitute fraud or news distortion.
