Export Compliance Daily combines U.S. export control news, foreign border import regulation and policy developments into a single daily information service that reliably informs its trade professional readers about important current issues affecting their operations.

Johnny Hurtado Olascoaga and Jose Alfredo Hurtado Olascoaga had already been designated as drug traffickers, but OFAC is now adding additional terrorism designations. The Trump administration deemed La Nueva Familia Michoacana a terrorist organization in February (see 2502190011).

OFAC also designated two additional members of the cartel -- Ubaldo Hurtado Olascoaga and Adita Hurtado Olascoaga. Ubaldo is a senior leader, and Adita engaged in a trade-based money laundering scheme through used clothing stores in the Rio Grande Valley that involved purchasing used clothes in the U.S. and giving the proceeds to La Nueva Familia Michoacana after their sale in Mexico.

OFAC also removed Antal Rogan, the Hungarian official, from the Specially Designated Nationals list. Rogan had been designated in the final days of the Biden administration for corruptly diverting money from the country’s strategic sectors for himself and his loyalists (see 2501070020).
