Response code 173 is a fatal error for when the country of ultimate destination is outdated and not an active country code in AES. Census said the code must be a valid number listed in Appendix C of the agency's ISO Country Codes. The filer should verify the code and the estimated date of export, correct the shipment and resubmit.
Response code 600 is another fatal error for when the vehicle ID qualifier wasn't reported. Census said the ID qualifier identifies the type of used vehicle number reported on the shipment, and it must either be "V" for "Vehicle Identification Number" or "P" for "Product Identification Number." The filer should verify the vehicle ID qualifier, correct the shipment and resubmit.
