New GOP Members of Senate Foreign Relations, Banking Announced

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee will gain six new Republican members in January, incoming Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., announced Dec. 20.

The new members are Sens. John Cornyn, R-Texas, Steve Daines, R-Mont., Mike Lee, R-Utah, and Rick Scott, R-Fla., and Sens.-elect John Curtis, R-Utah, and Dave McCormick, R-Pa. Leaving the committee are Sens. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., Mitt Romney, R-Utah, Todd Young, R-Ind., and Tim Scott, R-S.C.

The Senate Banking Committee will get four new Republican members: McCormick, Sen. Pete Ricketts, R-Neb., and Sens.-elect Jim Banks, R-Ind., and Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio. It will lose two: Daines and Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio.

Senate Democrats have not yet announced their committee assignments for the next Congress.
