The designations target Iran-based Sanat Danesh Rahpuyan Aflak Company Ltd, which OFAC said consults on, designs, manufactures and supplies items for Iranian missiles, drones, and more. The agency said the company sold more than 1,000 navigational systems to the IRG from 2022 to 2023, and those sales “constituted a significant portion” of the company’s profits during that time. The agency also sanctioned Sanat Danesh Rahpuyan Aflak’s CEO, Mohammed Abedininajafabadi, and its chief technology officer, Kaveh Merat. Abedininajafabadi also is the board director and CEO of Switzerland-based Illumove SA, also sanctioned by OFAC.
Both those people and companies were arrested and charged by DOJ earlier this week for conspiring to illegally ship advanced electronic components from the U.S. to Iran (see 2412170021).
