Census Offers Tips for Transportation Code, Routed Export Errors in AES
The Census Bureau emailed tips on how to address the most frequent messages generated this month in the Automated Export System.

Response code 105 is a fatal error for when the mode of transportation code reported isn't valid in AES. The filer should verify that code, correct the shipment and resubmit.
Response code 147 is another fatal error for when the routed export indicator is missing. Census said a routed export transaction is when the Foreign Principal Party in Interest authorizes a U.S. agent to "facilitate the export of items from the United States and to prepare and file" Electronic Export Information, and the filer must report the routed export indicator as "Yes or No." The filer should verify whether this is a routed export transaction, correct the shipment and resubmit.
