Moolenaar said he plans to work with his House colleagues “to help our country prepare for the challenges we face from the Chinese Communist Party and win the competition against the CCP.” He was one of five members of the House Select Committee who visited Taiwan in February to show support for the democratic country and discuss trade and investment, regional security and other issues (see 2402220048).
Although Gallagher announced in February that he wouldn't run for re-election in November but would serve out his term (see 2402120054), he revealed on March 22 that he is moving up his departure and will resign from the House effective April 19.
