Momentus had entered into an NSA with CFIUS to address concerns over the company's foreign ownership (see 2105180014 and 2109160037). CEO John Rood said those concerns have now been resolved, adding that the NSA involved “more than two years of intensive work by everyone in the company.”
Jason Garkey, chief security officer for Momentus, said the agreement called for the “divestment of the original foreign Chief Executive Officer and investors” along with new “cybersecurity measures” and a “complete zero-based review and improvement of the Company’s export control program.” The company was also audited to make sure it was complying with the NSA.
“The CFIUS process required Momentus to mature its business procedures much faster than a typical early-stage company and accelerated capability development,” Garkey said. “We view this achievement as a significant milestone and confirmation of the Company’s commitment to national security.”
