Wedge and Hex Nut Anchors Not Within Steel Threaded Rod AD/CVD Scope, Commerce Says
The Commerce Department found that carbon steel wedge anchors and hex nut sleeve anchors made by Chun Yu Works are not covered by antidumping and countervailing duty orders on alloy and certain carbon steel threaded rods from China, according to six separate but related scope rulings.

Commerce found that the AD and CVD orders covered certain carbon steel threaded rod, bar or studs that are "non-headed." It found that Chun Yu's wedge anchors and sleeve anchors both include bolts with conical heads, formed through cold die casting processes that require specialized machinery not used in the production of threaded rod. The agency concluded that the steel bolt is "headed" and is therefore out of the scope of “non-headed” threaded rod, bar or studs.
