Peru, Ukraine Launch Safeguard Investigations Into Clothing and Cheese, Respectively, WTO Says
Peru initiated a safeguard investigation on clothing Dec. 24, it told the World Trade Organization, as reported Jan. 3. Individuals or entities interested in expressing opinions on any potential safeguards can submit comments to Peru's Commission on Dumping Subsidies and Elimination of Non-Tariff Trade Barriers. A public hearing on the safeguard measures has yet to be announced.

Ukraine also notified the WTO Jan. 6 of a safeguard investigation it launched on Dec. 24, on certain types of cheese, the WTO said. To comment on these proceedings, submissions may be made to Ukraine's Ministry of Economy, which carries out registration of interested parties and considers the requirements for participating in hearings within 30 days from its safeguard notification.
