State Dept. Approves Military Sales to France, Lithuania, Australia

The State Department approved three potential military sales to France, Lithuania and Australia worth more than a combined $1.5 billion, according to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency.

The sale to France, worth $1.32 billion, is for “Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS), Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG)” and related equipment. The prime contractors will be General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems Group and Huntington Ingalls Industries.

The $125 million sale to Lithuania is for javelin missiles and related equipment. The principal contractor will be a Raytheon/Lockheed Martin Corp. joint venture.

The sale to Australia, worth $108 million, is for “Hellfire AGM-114R2 Missiles“ and related equipment. Lockheed Martin will be the principal contractor.
