- CBSA issues notice of initiation of expiry review investigation for refined sugar. The Canada Border Services Agency on Oct. 5 initiated an expiry review investigation to determine whether the expiration of an Oct. 30, 2015, order concerning the dumping of refined sugar, refined from sugar cane or sugar beets, in granulated, liquid and powdered form originating in or exported from the U.S., Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, as well as the subsidizing of refined sugar originating in or exported from the European Union (EU), is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping and/or subsidizing of the subject goods. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal on Oct. 2 initiated an expiry review of the order. The CBSA will make a determination no later than March 1, 2021, and will issue a Statement of Reasons by March 16, 2021.
