- Canadian Government announces new Canadian Seafood Stabilization Fund to help Canada’s fish and seafood industry. The Government of Canada announced it has created the Canadian Seafood Stabilization Fund that provides $62.5 million of new assistance to the fish and seafood-processing sector in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This new fund will provide new short term financing to pay for maintenance and inventory costs, support new manufacturing/automated technologies to improve productivity and quality of finished seafood products and adapt products to respond to changing requirements and new market demands.
