But Internet freedom advocates including the Electronic Frontier Foundation, Center for Democracy and Technology and New America’s Open Technology Institute oppose the bill because they say it’s too vague, unnecessarily duplicates the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and could penalize innocent activity by researchers and whistleblowers (see 1606100056).
